Q9 or QT suited are exotic hands and can bring huge rewards, all you need to do is to limp until turn and decide whether you should see the river. Since everybody likes to hold Aces and Kings, when people hit big pairs on the flop and they limp further you get a straight draw also I find flush draws with Q kicker always coming on top. AQ usually don't limp further than flop so no worries. If the flop is XXX with some straight draws always chase the river (happened many times in these occasions with opponents holding straights downwards and my 9 coming on top). Lastly you can hit pairs with somewhat decent kicker. Every hand has a plan and a story to tell. If there are miracles you can always expect it from this hand like none other.

So… don't play J8 because even when you make a straight your opponent could have KJ…. and don't play KJ because your opponent could have AJ… and don't play AJ because it sucks

  • You are joking right?? With pocket Aces on a board with flush draw and less than 50 bb… The pot is $25+ more than half of his stack, if they were playing deep (more than 150bb) i am sure that he will fold the Aces. Folding Aces in that situation is the dumbest thing you can do in the long run.

I removed my last comment because Phil was simply trying to illustrate how quickly a bankroll could be lost in No Limit vs Pot Limit, but still, the way he played that hand was just garbage. If your opponent keeps coming back on your raises, he's got something and you don't. Fold.
